	My forge is located in Llanbrynmair. The business has been trading for over six years. As my reputation has grown, so has the demand for more unusual and individual pieces of work. I graduated with a degree in fine art sculpture from Bath Spa University. I then pursued a course in Blacksmithing and Metalwork at Hereford College. After various work placements and apprenticeships I set up Gothic Blacksmiths in 2003. Most commissions I make are from my own design, unless I have a specific design from my customers. I have developed and learnt a wide range of metal and forging techniques. Working as a blacksmith has given me great insight, which I utilise as a sculptor and artist. I also teach blacksmithing. Most of my students have been teenagers. A few have also come for work experience. I also run projects with schools and various festivals and events. Tristan McLean has been learning Blacksmithing with Spike as an Apprentice for the last four years. Together we have been taking on larger commissions and combing our Artistic and Design talents to create new and original work. I am always ready for collaborating with other Craftspeople and Artists.
